In 1996, the Hope's Cheesecake Store was reopened, bringing cheesecake, a Gulf Coast favorite, back to life - including the family recipe perfected by Hope's mother years ago in New York.
Today, our kitchen is staffed by bakers with over 30 years of experience. Our cheesecakes are made in small batches with ingredients like fresh whole eggs, Melipone vanilla, pure cane sugar and juice squeezed from fresh lemons. The special crust recipe combines Zwieback toast crumbs, almond meal and graham cracker crumbs.
Each cheesecake is baked for two and a half hours in special rotary ovens that maintain consistent temperature and protect the cake from the flame - an innovation we imagine Hope's mother didn't have back in New York.
